The fifth season will be released every Wednesday, at 9PM (JST), starting on April 16th, 2025! A PV teasing the contents of the new season, narrated by Kagura, has been released alongside its release date.

This year, the Color Sonic returns. Betting it all on a single, unique song, the curtain pulls back again on this festival where pushing your limits, breaking the codes and bringing into being audacious musicality is key.
However, this year brings novelty, and with it two special judges: Kurahashi Kairi and Kaji Haruhi. Both graduated students will return to the stage that saw them fight tooth and nail, now on the judging side as leading figures in the music industry.
I remember the day we first stepped on that stage like it was yesterday. Back then, I was prideful and entrusted my ego into my music: I hoped that my art would provoke something and prove that I could exist in this world.
Everything began that day. Not a single moment has faded with time, despite the blink of time adolescence shared with our respective buddies was. Our past and the future we dreamt of—it all came to life with these first notes.
Three years ago, the newly instituted “buddy system” in Ironoha Music Academy made waves among the selected students. How did our music find its way, its style, among the discord? What did we think at the time, and how did we grow from the raging tides of doubt and confusion?
Last but not least comes Miyazono Tomoe and Sakaki Oshiro’s high-school days, and their share of personal conflicts in setting their eyes on Ironoha. What kind of song will lead them to the future we know of? Will they manage to leave a mark and make their voices heard?
Our music, no matter how eclectic, undeniably made a difference in our society.
Who and what embodies each beat of their music? What determination or resignation do they carry to stand on Tokyo Color Sonic’s stage?

The government founded COLORATION, a production agency under their jurisdiction, hoping to raise the level and sophistication of the entertainment industry nationwide.
Ironoha Music Academy, operated by COLORATION, is a music institute that operates dozens of schools across the country. Students plough away to become unparalleled singers, composers and lyricists, pursuing their own artistic expression in hopes of leading the music industry and achieving their dreams.
The “Tokyo Color Sonic” is an annual music festival, albeit revolutionised by a new rule: to pair up selected students from Ironoha’s regional branches, create a single song and finally compete at the festival.
The competition draws a limelight on the “vanguards of the music industry.”
Looking back to three years ago...
The newly instituted ‘buddy system’ made wave among COLORATION and the Academy, pushing the youth to confront themselves and their music: “What does music mean to me?” “Why do I want to make music so badly?”
Tension and conflicts brought them to a crossroad. In seeking notes that escape them still, the selected students learn from the awkward struggles of growing up.
Thus, their story began.
