“Distinct Approaches to Combat”

[North Country—Tower of Trials]

(Metus growls)

Akira & Heathcliff: …

Akira: I know we’re not that close to it, but just knowing that Metus is around still has me on edge…

Heathcliff: I'm the weakest in terms of magical power compared to my fellow wizards here, so I doubt it will have any interest in me, let alone attack us, but...

I must admit that its rather… Impulsive temperament makes me quite nervous.

Akira: I feel you… There’s always a chance that we may accidentally provoke Metus, and I’d rather not end up all alone face-to-face with it.

Heathcliff: I agree. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen for the both of us.

Master Faust taught us to hold back on engaging combat against an opponent with the upper hand, especially all by ourselves—

(Metus snarls, louder than before)

Heathcliff & Akira: !?

Heathcliff: Metus is looking over here…! Master Sage, get behind me. We don’t know what it could do next—

(Metus begins to move)

Heathcliff: …Wait, something feels off. Metus doesn’t seem to be after us. Then who…

Akira: …! Its going after Mithra!

Mithra, behind y–!

(Metus jumps at Mithra, but a blinding light cuts the beast’s assault)

Heathcliff & Akira: !?

Akira: He, he repelled Metus’ attack without a flinch…

Heathcliff: Hahah… And all by himself at that.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to me anymore, but the way the Northern and Eastern wizards approach a fight is like night and day…

While I certainly cannot imitate his methods, there’s much for me to learn in Mithra’s display of strength.
