chapter one

[North Country—Snow Plain]

Riquet: Woah, Prince Arthur, look! Look at all this snow! Oh, I’m even leaving footprints!

Arthur: Right, I remember you said that you had not seen much snow in your life before.

Riquet: It’s my first time seeing the ground covered in it! …However, the lands look rather inhospitable with all this snow.

Arthur: Ah, Riquet, don’t walk too far from me.

This country is home to many dangerous places. Let’s stay close so that we don't get separated.

Riquet: You're right... This certainly feels quiet compared to the liveliness of Central Country. There is not a single sign of human life around us…

Arthur: That’s because the North has a smaller population in part due to the harsh weather.

Riquet: It does look like it would be too cold here to play hide-and-seek or sit down to draw around here.

...Although I can't feel it now since Oz cast a warming spell for us before coming here, but still…

Arthur: Lord Oz would sometimes cast that same spell on me when I was still living with him.

At the time, I would crack frozen puddles and play with the snow bunnies that occasionally poked their heads out.

Riquet: Snow bunnies?

Arthur: There are pure white rabbits across the country that dig their burrows in the snow. They’re warm creatures, so I would keep them in my arms sometimes and sneak them home to sleep with them in my bed.

There was also this time wh— Hm? What’s the matter, Riquet?

Riquet: You look so cheerful when speaking about the North.

Arthur: I do? This country holds many fond memories for me, perhaps it slips through.

Riquet: …Prince Arthur, which country do you prefer? Central or North?

Arthur: Hm, that’s… That is difficult to answer…

Riquet: Oh, is it?

Arthur: Of course. Naturally, I profoundly love the people of Central Country.

But I also like the country that raised me just as strongly.

Riquet: …Well I prefer Central Country.

Arthur: I understand, and I’m honoured to hear this from you.

Riquet: You ought to put your country above all as the prince of the Central Country.

Arthur: I suppose there’s some truth to that. I may even be considered selfish for liking both countries equally.

Riquet: …I like Central Country the most, and I wish you would like it as much as I do, Prince Arthur.

Arthur: …

Oh, before I forget, could you come with me for a moment, Riquet?

chapter two

[North Country—Sky]

Riquet: Excuse me, um… I know we have been flying for quite some time now, but where are we heading exactly?

Arthur: You will understand soon. Are you tired?

Riquet: I’m fine… I’m more excited than anything. However, the sun is already setting, and wandering outside is dangerous after dark… Is this profanity a sign of my corruption?

Arthur: ...This isn't profanity or corruption.

You know, I used to feel the same way as you do whenever I snuck out from Lord Oz’s castle to the place I’m taking you to.

Riquet: You did, Prince Arthur?

Arthur: Yes. …Speaking of, we have arrived. Look above you.

Riquet: …Wow! I cannot believe we’re so close to the moon! It’s huge…!

Even the snow looks like dancing lights in the moonlight…

Arthur: That’s a view you cannot have anywhere else. Coming here almost makes you lose track of time.

Riquet: I can see why. I could admire this view forever…

Riquet: …Prince Arthur… I apologise for what I said earlier, that was rude of me.

I better understand your appreciation for this country now—I think I like it a little more too!

Arthur: So do I: coming here with you made me fall for the North all over again. Thank you for accompanying me, Riquet.

Riquet: This place should be cold, yet my heart feels warm.

Liking new things can be such a wonderful feeling.

“Let’s Go Together Next Time”

[Wizard’s Manor—Riquet’s Room]

Akira: How did you feel about your visit to the North, Riquet?

Riquet: Let’s see… The cold weather makes it impossible for crops to grow, and I have heard that many scary people live there.

It’s far different from the Central Country.

But Prince Arthur showed me the prettiest views there: everything around us was sparkling!

Akira: (I’m glad he got to make fond memories there.)

So, don’t you want to try living in the North, even just once?

Riquet: In the North? I have never considered living in another country.

My power lies in my faith and the priests from the Church after all…

Akira: Huh, um… What if you were free to live anywhere you want then?

Riquet: Anywhere I want…

Even so, I cannot live in the North. I much prefer the country that raised me.

Ah, but it’s not like I hate the North! It's quite the opposite!

Prince Arthur showed me such a fantastic view of the country, I would love to visit again if I ever get the chance!

Akira: Coming from you, it must have been magical.

Riquet: Would you like to come with us next time? Prince Arthur told me he would show me other places he likes.

North Country may be extremely dangerous, we have nothing to fear as long as Prince Arthur is with us.

I’m sure he’ll take us somewhere amazing!
