“Authentically Written Down In History”

[Central Country—Town Square]

Murr: Master Sage, look, look! There’s tons of books about me!

Akira: All of those are about you!? Incredible... What in the world could they possibly say?

Murr: It depends on the book you pick!

For example, this one talks about how I got hung up in mid-air by an angry fellow after losing a bet against me…

Or this one author who, after I told him the tales of my beloved Calamity for three days and three nights, thanked me crying his eyes out!

Akira: What happened to leave him like that!?

Murr: Well, the book talks about his terrible heartbreak, and how he tried to soothe his suffering through gambling. It also mentions how he couldn’t give up the habit, even if he wanted to… and found himself stuck in that vicious spiral.

But witnessing my love and longing for a moon beyond reach gave him courage—or so the book says.

Akira: I wouldn’t expect any less from stories of your past; they’re always pretty unorthodox...

Murr: Are you sure the Murr in those lines was the real Murr, though?

Akira: Hm? Are you insinuating that some of that story was made up? I mean, people can lie. Written facts don’t necessarily mean they’re intangible truth.

Murr: Yup, and the same goes for the Sage’s Manual: just like this book, its pages may be stuffed with lies, and nothing could testify of its accuracy.

Tell me, Master Sage: is the Murr in your Manual the true Murr?

Akira: …I try to authentically transcribe the Murr I see with my own eyes, as honestly and accurately as I can make it.

I cannot say if that being is the “true Murr”, but… I don’t believe I lied to the pages of the Sage’s Manual.

Murr: Ahaha, that’s our Master Sage! Keep writing about us the way our true selves reflect in your eyes, all right?
