CARD STORY
All part of the plan!
Murr: Oh, look, look, Master Sage! Clouds today are super fluffy!
Akira: You’re right. They look kind of like cotton candy. (1)
Murr: Cotton death? How can air die?
Akira: It-it has nothing to do with death...! It’s a sweet treat, fluffy as a cloud.
Murr: Wow! So you can even eat something like that back in your world, Master Sage!?
Akira: Yup.
Murr: I want to try it out! I wonder if we can also eat clouds in this world?! Let’s take my broom!
Akira: Huh, Murr? ... Wai-!?
Murr: Master Sage, let’s gooo!
Akira: (Aaah, you’ve got it all wrong, Murr...!)
Murr: Would these clouds do the trick? I'll just use magic to harden them like this, and... Ahaha! Perfectly cut!
Alright, time to dig in!
…?
….
Akira: (He looks really, really disappointed now...)
Murr: It’s so bland! Not even sweet or savoury!
Hey, why are the clouds in Master Sage's world so delicious, then? Do you have a cook living up there in the sky?
Akira: Weeell, clouds aren’t made of candy to begin with… Cotton candy is a sweet that resembles them.
Murr: Right… So it’s not a real cloud.
Akira: I’m sorry, I should have told you from the beginning. Though if we have sweets around, I can make some.
Murr: ...Really!? If it’s sugar, I’ll handle it! How about a mountain of it?
Akira: Haha, we won’t need that many. I’ll hand you some once it’s done.
Murr: Yay! I was waiting for you to say that, Master Sage!
Akira: What?
Murr: What? Ah- Looking forward to your cotton candy!
Akira: (...Don’t tell me… Murr knew all along…?)
(1) Play on word: 綿菓子(watagashi) means ‘cotton candy’, but as Murr doesn’t know what it is, he uses the only word he understands which is 死 (shi) meaning ‘death’.
